Rugby at Welkom Secondary School is all about trust, respect discipline, enjoyment, passion, teamwork, and hard work.

"Rugby is the perfect sport to be able to teach character education because it's built on teamwork and respect."

Our school have rugby for both girls and boys. The school participate in the Ikawe Rugby games for high schools and in the Lejweleputswa games. The Rugby U/16 and U19 teams also participate in the Brentpark Secondary School Tournament since 2018. In 2018 and 2019 our learners won the gold metals.

Both our girls and boys players also get elected by the Griffons Rugby union to participate in the National Tournaments weeks.
